Fall is in full swing and there are so many activities for the whole family to enjoy! Don’t know what to do with your children on the weekends or school holidays? Not a problem! Here are some of our favorite, budget and kid-friendly activities throughout Maryland!
1. The National Aquarium
On Friday, October 25th after 5:00 pm, the National Aquarium will have FREE admission during Free Fall Friday Night! Tickets will be available at 3:00 pm on October 14th exclusively through the normal National Aquarium online reservation system. Because of the popularity of the event, crowds will be larger than usual and the Aquarium will most likely sell out quickly!

2. Maryland Corn Maze
Through October and early November, the Maryland Corn Maze will be open on weekends and specific weekdays. The Maryland Corn Maze offers live concerts, zip lines, a petting zoo, corn pits, jump-pads, pumpkins, tractors, swings, and, of course, a corn maze! The event also serves hot chocolate, cider donuts, fried pickles, kettle corn, and more! Tickets range from $16.95-$24.95. Children Two and under are free and do not need a ticket on weekends and children 12 months and under are free and do not need a ticket on weekdays.

3. Sharp’s at Waterford Farm
Every Saturday and Sunday from September 28th through November 8th, Sharp’s at Waterford Farm will have various fall activities and themed weekends for people of all ages for free! They have free hayrides to their pumpkin patch, a country store with preserves, apple butter, salsa, local honey, crafts, and much more! Be sure to visit the friendly farm animals, get a slice of pizza from J.Z.’s Brick Oven Pizza Food Truck, and have so much affordable fun!
Saturday, October 19th: See the Howard County Police, Sheriff, Fire & Rescue and take a peek inside real vehicles including fire trucks, police cars, and motorcycles.
Saturday, October 26th, and Sunday, October 27th: Bring your dogs in their best costumes and let them enjoy a day at the farm! There will be dog-related vendors and get the chance to pamper your dog while they are here!

4. Green Meadows Petting Farm
Green Meadows Petting Farm is hosting two different fall activities throughout October! From October 2nd-31st, Green Meadows will have an $18 admission fee for their pumpkin patch where you can pick a pumpkin (pumpkin included in ticket), a hay ride, a pig race, play areas, and free animal feed for their petting farm. On October 5th&6th, 11th-13th, 18th-20th, and 25th-27th from 6:00 pm-10:00 pm Green Meadows will be having a Trail of Jack-O-Lanterns (for all ages) and non-scary Trick-or-Treating (for ages 13 and under). For $16.00 per person, you can take a walk through a trail of lights with jack-o-lanterns of all shapes and sizes, go trick-or-treating wearing your favorite costume for one hour (7:00 pm to 8:00 pm), enjoy fire pits, enjoy a fun comedy show, and visit their furry friends at the animal barn!

5. Camp Sonshine Fall Events
Camp Sonshine provides multiple fall events for children of all ages through October and November! On school holidays in Montgomery County (October 18th, November 4th, and November 5th) there will be $55 “School Holiday Events” where your children can be dropped off at Camp Sonshine and enjoy a day full of fun, a field trip, and childcare! On October 12th there will be two events, one for Pre-K to 2nd graders and the other for 6th-12th graders. The Pre-K to 2nd-grade event ($35) will include a fall festival where children can experience a full day of camp with fall-themed activities! The 6th-12th grade event ($45) will occur later that day as Camp Sonshine takes a trip to Summer’s Farm with the teens for a night full of a corn maze, petting farm, slides, zip lines, fireworks, and more!
Camp Sonshine is hosting a fall-themed day of camp for 3rd-5th grade children ($35) on November 9th. Are you a parent wanting in on all of the fun? On November 23rd, Camp Sonshine is providing a fall-themed FREE family day of camp activities for all ages! Bring the whole family to enjoy crafts, face painting, gaga ball, assembly, giveaways, and more.
