The spirit of Christmas has surely found us at Camp Sonshine! Our SHINE After Care students are having a blast participating in holiday-themed activities and our staff are continuing to diligently plan for our Spring Break and Summer Camp Programs!
If you have yet to register, do so now to utilize one of our automated installment plans!
You can register for summer 2024 by logging into your camp account and completing the 2024 application! Registering early allows you to make installment payments (either monthly or bi-weekly) towards your balance to have you paid in full by our payment deadline of April 24th. Our multi-week discount of $25 off each week if you register for 2+ weeks also ends on April 24th, so be sure to register and secure your spot before then!
SHINE After Care
SHINE After Care still has availability! We serve students K-5th grade from various schools in our after school program, and have full and half day drop-in opportunities. You do not have to be a regular attendee to register for Montgomery County Public Schools are not in session!

Symphony of Lights

Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia
The Symphony of Lights has been enjoyed by many for over 25 years! Set in historic Merriweather Post Pavilion and made up of more than 300,000 bulbs, this family-oriented spectacular is a dazzling display of larger-than-life animated and stationary holiday light creations. With the addition of new lights every year, your time through our course guarantees to be a night to remember.
District Wharf Holiday Boat Parade
Dec 2 | 6pm – 9pm | Free Admission

A holiday event that features over sixty beautifully decorated boats parading along the Washington Channel. Get in the spirit with fun holiday activities including ornament decorating and face painting by Recreation Pier, holiday karaoke, family photos with Santa, fireworks and so much more.

National Harbor
Step into a dazzling, immersive, story-driven Christmas experience with ICE!, featuring Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Wander past larger-than-life ice sculptures, ride down thrilling frozen slides, slip through awe-inspiring tunnels and admire the resort’s snow globe exhibit.
United States Botanical Garden

Annual holiday display “Season’s Greenings” will feature model trains in the gated outdoor gardens, festive lights throughout the Garden, and the Conservatory will feature poinsettias, holiday decor, and D.C. landmarks made from plants. On the lawn in the gated outdoor gardens, G-gauge model trains will circulate from 10:00-5:00 daily through displays of pollinators made from plant parts.
Enchant: Reindeer Games

Bring friends and family for a magical evening with over 4 million lights, a story-themed light maze, ice skating, and more! Explore Enchant’s immersive Reindeer Games maze and stroll through a village of artisan vendors and boutiques—perfect for holiday shopping. Enjoy festive treats and drinks along the way. Parents can also relax with little ones in the Kid Zone.
