Summer may be winding down, but that doesn’t mean that Camp Sonshine is! Here are some timely updates to keep in mind as we enter into the school year season:
Pre-Registration for Summer 2026 is Open Now Through October 31st, 2025!
Continue all the fun, laughter, and smiles for another year when you pre-register for Summer 2026!
You can register by logging into your camp account and completing the 2026 application! Registering early allows you to make installment payments towards your balance to have you paid in full by our payment deadline of April 23rd 2026.
When you secure your camper’s spot early, you also unlock exclusive savings and special perks:
- Register for 2+ weeks in August and get $15 off per week, per camper!
- Enroll for 2+ weeks in September and get $10 off per week, per camper.
- Sign up for 2+ weeks in October and get $5 off per week, per camper.

SHINE After School Care
If you’re looking for after school care this upcoming school year, look no further than SHINE, Camp Sonshine’s after school program!
SHINE is designed to meet the educational, social, and physical needs of school-aged children (K-8th grade) through structured times for homework, enrichment, active and creative play, and social interaction! With affordable pricing, extended hours, trained staff, and even homework help, SHINE After School Care strives to give your family a safe, fun, and loving experience. Give your children the fun of Camp Sonshine all year long!
Word of the Week
Each week, we highlight a new character-building word.
This initiative helps campers grow on a solid foundation of values and prepare for life’s future challenges. At Camp Sonshine, we believe W.O.W. not only makes life better but it helps kids become better at life!
Latestay
Available at both our Silver Spring and Germantown locations.
Latestays are a special time on Thursdays (PreK-2nd) and Fridays (3rd-9th) of weeks 3, 5, 7, & 9 when campers can keep the fun going until 8pm. Campers participate in awesome activities and dinner is provided! Cost is $35 for PreK-4th, and cost is included in High Adventure and Teen programs.
Theme Day
Every Wednesday, Discovery (PreK–K) and Explorer (1st–2nd) campers dive into Theme Day.
One of the most anticipated days of the week! Campers participate in themed games, crafts, and activities, it’s a day full of imagination and excitement.
Giving Tree
This summer, join us in a weekly global outreach initiative called Giving Tree!
A unique opportunity for your camper to gain a global perspective and develop a compassionate heart. Our goal is to broaden their horizons, keep our problems in perspective, and gain tools to positively impact others.

GIVE
Send “spare change for a positive change”! Campers can bring letters or donations each Thursday to contribute to our Giving Tree donation buckets.

Every Wednesday, we’ll email fun resources related to our “country of the week,” including activities, recipes, and videos for your family to enjoy together!
